Within the framework of the ASEAN Tourism Forum - ATF 2024, at the "ASEAN Tourism Awards" Ceremony held in Vientiane, Laos on January 26, 2024, Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center under Saigon Exhibition and Convention Joint Venture Company (SECC), honored to receive the "ASEAN MICE Venue Awards - Exhibition Venue Category".

Participating in the event included tourism ministers from 10 ASEAN countries, the tourism business community, and international media. On the Vietnamese side, there was the participation of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Minister of Culture - Sports - Tourism, head of the delegation.

This is a noble award of the ASEAN tourism industry, aiming to contribute to honoring and developing the brands of high-quality tourism businesses, products and services in the region. Previously, SECC was also honored to be awarded "Vietnam's Leading Conference and Exhibition Center" consecutively in 2021, 2022 and 2023 by the prestigious international organization World Travel Awards.

Held annually, rotating among the 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) is the largest event within the framework of ASEAN tourism cooperation, where Vietnam participates extensively and effectively. Every year, based on the ASEAN Tourism Standards, Vietnam selects and nominates excellent organizations, business units, destinations, businesses and individuals to receive ASEAN Tourism Awards on the occasion of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF).

In 2023, the economy is gradually recovering, the exhibition, conference, seminar and event industry is also gradually stabilizing. Based on that positive picture, SECC has made many efforts to successfully complete business goals, with a total revenue of VND 378.8 billion, an increase of 22% compared to year plan, an increase of 89% compared to 2022 and increased 5% compared to 2019, the period before the Covid-19 pandemic; Gross profit reached 191.7 billion VND, an increase of 47% compared to the 2023 plan, an increase of 158% compared to 2022 and an increase of 17% compared to 2019.

In 2023, there were 62 indoor and outdoor exhibitions, events held at SECC, with more than 1.6 million visitors from more than 50 countries and territories. Among them, specialized and annual exhibitions have had good growth, using almost the entire area of SECC such as: Hawa, Vifa, Saigontex, Shoes Leather, Vietnam Plas... There are 7 new exhibitions with many Various types of topics have been organized at SECC such as: Hawa Expo, Global Sources, VN logistics, CBEE, Inter Foam, OCTP, Vicam. In addition, SECC is also a place chosen by many trusted companies to organize leading events, typically events of big brands such as Unilever, Prudential, Herbalife, Bosch, Unicity, ACB bank, Techcombank. In addition, SECC is also the venue for international music festivals such as Rapviet Concert, The Masked Singers Concert, Adex K-pop Concert, The Chill Fesh, "Dream Cities" and other events along with other large scale events such as F&B Festival...

In 2023, SECC served over 62 exhibitions and events, attracting over 1.6 million domestic and international visitors.

In 2023, SECC has also put into operation many new services, giving organizers more options such as tackle services, improved electrical equipments, and outdoor tent services equipped with refrigeration systems, compressed air service in exhibition halls A - B... which increased convenience and safety in organizing exhibitions and events at SECC.

SECC is a joint venture between Saigontourist Group accounting for 60% of the capital contribution and Phu My Hung Development Company Limited accounting for 40% of the capital contribution. On October 30, 2008, Exhibition Hall A welcomed its first event. On April 26, 2022, Exhibitor B officially came into operation.

Located at the city gateway area and surrounded by the 4 busiest main roads of the Center of Phu My Hung new urban area, SECC is currently the only place in the country and one of the exhibition halls of Southeast Asia meets international standards in engineering, construction and space of the exhibition industry. The halls are designed to be suitable for organizing large-scale events and exhibitions with open, column-free spaces. The total area of the halls is up to 18,000 m2, accompanied by supporting function spaces and a system of multi-scale meeting and conference rooms, which can be flexibly changed to suit all requirements. Outside is a spacious campus of more than 22,000 m2, an ideal space to organize outdoor events for tens of thousands of attendees.

The restaurant area serves a variety of Asian and European culinary styles and many other types of food services; Convenience stores, automatic teller machines, rechargeable battery backup services... are also located in many areas to serve customers. SECC also owns the largest parking lot with a capacity of up to 1,000 cars and 3,000 motorbikes, of which the parking area in the basement of lobby B can serve 220 cars and 440 motorbikes at the same time.

SECC is an event venue that has set record numbers such as a trade fair with a scale of up to 2,500 booths, a gala dinner serving over 4,000 guests, and a music festival attracting more than 30,000 spectators, 750 exhibitors all in the same international exhibition venue, with the whole number of visitors reached 120,000 people.
