SAIGONTOURIST GROUP TO JOINTLY ORGANIZE A SERIES OF EVENTS WITHIN THE HUNGARIAN CULTURAL AND GASTRONOMIC WEEKS 2022 IN HCMC
On the morning of November 21, 2022 at Saigontourist Hospitality College, the Hungarian Food Festival took place. Attending the program were Mrs. Szilvia Szojka, Consul General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Andrea Antal, Head of the Department for Hungarikums from the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary; Mr. Béla Prohászka – Master Chef, Vice President of the Association of Hungarian National Values and Hungarikums; Mr. Balázs Sándor Mucsi, Director of the Vocational Training Centre of Békéscsaba; Mr. Do Viet Ha, Chairman of the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations; Mr. Pham Huy Binh, Saigontourist Group Chairman of the Board of Members..., along with representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association.
The Hungarian Cultural and Gastronomic Weeks 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City take place from November 21 to December 11, 2022, Saigontourist Group is honored to accompany the Hungarian Consulate General to jointly organize the program's series of events from the Hungarian Food Festival.
As one of the highlights of the Hungarian Cultural and Gastronomic Weeks 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Hungarian Food Festival includes Hungarian Cuisine Specialized Cooking Classes and the Hungarian Food Festival Gala Dinner. The Hungarian Cuisine Specialized Cooking Classes started on November 21 and will last until November 24, 2022 at Saigontourist Hospitality College. The Hungarian Food Festival Gala Dinner will be held on the evening of December 1, 2022 at the historic boutique Hotel Continental Saigon. Both venues for these shows belong to Saigontourist Group.
“The series of cultural, culinary and tourism events organized by the Consulate General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City shows an effort to promote the bilateral relationship between Hungary and Vietnam in all fields, contributing to tightening solidarity and friendship, increasing opportunities for cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries. Saigontourist Group is honored to contribute to the development of that good friendship through taking on the role of co-organizer of the program's series of events", said Mr. Vo Anh Tai - Deputy General Director of Saigontourist Group, Head of the Organizing Committee of Saigontourist Group-Hungarian Food Festival.
With the Hungarian Cuisine Specialized Cooking Classes, Saigontourist Group arranges and supports the entire venue, personnel, facilities to organize the opening and closing ceremonies, and supporting the means of activities of the classes. Saigontourist Group nominated 48 expert chefs from the Group system and who are also members from Saigontourist Group F&B Club to participate in Hungarian Cuisine Specialized Cooking Classes 2022, in order to share and spread together the culinary culture of Vietnam - Hungary with Hungarian culinary experts.
Mr. Béla Prohászka - senior Hungarian Master Chef, and currently Vice President of the Hungarian National Association of Values and Hungarikums - directly introduces and guides how to prepare the most famous and typical Hungarian dishes to chefs from Saigontourist Group's service facilities at two levels: expert chefs, including 24 students and young chefs, including 24 students, all are members of Saigontourist Group F&B Club. Students will have the opportunity to experience and discover the uniqueness of Hungarian cuisine, with typical Hungarian cold appetizers, such as cold foie gras terrine, goose breast stuffed with prunes; Famous Hungarian soups, such as Gulyas (Hungarian-style beef soup), Ujhazi chicken soup. Typical Hungarian dishes such as Karcagi-style lamb stew, Makoi foie gras, duck breast cooked with acacia honey. And famous Hungarian desserts include apple pie, Hungarian chrysanthemum cake with Aranygaluska vanilla sauce, fresh cheesecake with Varga Beles raisins, Kalocsai-style thousand-layer cake…
Participating in this special training course, the elite chefs of Saigontourist Group have the opportunity to learn and interact directly with senior Hungarian kitchen expert. Not only sharing experiences, improving skills, enjoying the typical flavors of Hungarian cuisine, the students also had the opportunity to research and refine the flavors of Hungarian cuisine to supplement and enrich the menus for Saigontourist Group member units. The skills and knowledge from the training course are also
useful "living documents" for the practical culinary training of the Saigontourist Hospitality College (STHC). As a co-organizer, during the Hungarian Food Festival Gala Dinner organized at Hotel Continental Saigon on December 1, 2022, Saigontourist Group sponsored the event venue, all facilities, kitchen equipments, catering staff and event organization personnel.
