SAIGONTOURIST GROUP SUCCESSFULLY ORGANIZED A TOUR IN TRIBUTE OF COVID-19 FRONTLINE FORCES IN HO CHI MINH CITY

On September 19, 2021, Saigontourist Group in collaboration with the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio district successfully organized the first tour visiting Can Gio paying tribute to 119 guests who are Covid-19 medical staff members in Ho Chi Minh City. The tour strictly ensures safety measures on epidemic prevention and control. All guests and service staff must inject 2 doses of vaccine, be tested negative...beforehand.

Saigontourist Group was the consultant unit, directly organized and sponsored the program.

This is a pilot tourism product of Can Gio tourism during social distancing period and the first tourism product of Ho Chi Minh City tourism right in the time of social distancing.

Participated in the tour, there were 119 doctors and nurses representing national hospitals, health departments of provinces and cities as well as colleges, universities who supported Ho Chi Minh City in disease prevention and control. The first tour piloted in this "special time" is organized according to the "closed bubble" model, with a closed route, visitors mainly visit outdoor tourist attractions, mangrove space, river in Can Gio, which is currently the "green spot" of the city. The routes that guests have visited include Monkey Island Forest Park, Rừng Sác (Revolution Relic Base camp), Vam Sat Ecopark.

After experiencing the Can Gio tour, Doctor Dao Thi Huong - the head of Thai Nguyen Central Hospital team- shared: "Not only myself, but also the medical staff and doctors participating in this tour are all very touched by the warm affection of Ho Chi Minh City authorities and its people. After this trip, tomorrow we will return to the work of treating and curing Covid-19 patients like the past days, but with a fresh mind, energy and emotion".
Doctor Nguyen Van Toan - head of Thanh Hoa province's medical team shared: "Medical colleagues were very touched when they received a surprise gift from the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, a tour of Can Gio with many fun activities and experiences. We hope Ho Chi Minh City will "wake up" as soon as possible.

Attending the gratitude program were Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Mr. Duong Anh Duc - Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, representatives of leaders from the city's departments and Can Gio district. On the leadership side of Saigontourist Group, there were Mr. Pham Huy Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Vo Anh Tai, Deputy General Director.

Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai expressed his deep gratitude from the side of the city’s government and citizens and appreciated the medical force who stood with the city. He also shared the hope that the epidemic would soon be repelled, so that the city could return to its new normal state. This Can Gio tour program is considered as a tribute dedicated to the medical forces on the front lines fighting against the epidemic. It is also a pilot move in a step-by-step effort to restore Ho Chi Minh City's and Can Gio district’s tourism industry in terms of ensuring safety measures for epidemic prevention and control.

“Implementing this program, Saigontourist Group is very honored to join hands showing gratitude to the frontline medical forces and contributing to the restoration of Can Gio tourism in particular and Ho Chi Minh City tourism in general. Besides participating in the operation of this tribute tour, in the past time, Saigontourist Group has also mobilized 24 hotels and resorts in its Ho Chi Minh City’s system to support, take care of food and accommodation for thousands of medical staff and doctors on the front lines who have worked hard day and night to prevent and control the epidemic", said Pham Huy Binh, Saigontourist Group’s Chairman of the Board of Members.

After this tribute tour, Saigontourist Group directs its member units to continue promoting the operation of Can Gio tour along with many tours at other safe destinations. The condition is that all anti-epidemic safety measures of Ho Chi Minh City’s 3 phases tourism recovery plan, from the end of September 2021 onward, are followed.

Regarding the support for Covid-19 frontline medical team in Ho Chi Minh City, beside sponsoring the Can Gio gratitude tour, up to now, Saigontourist Group has also welcomed 116 delegations from the Ministry of Health, different National departments, medical teams from national and provincial hospitals across the country. The number of doctors serving by Saigontourist Group so far is 21,039 turns, 7,445 doctors, occupying 2,482 rooms, staying in 24 hotels with 68,144 room nights and 313,386 meals. Saigontourist Group is continuing to coordinate with other departments to welcome medical teams, doctors and frontline forces. In order to ensure the attentive service, reception, and coordination in welcoming delegations, the Group has mobilized all human resources with 3,184 officials and employees working in 24 different hotels in the city.
