About Saigontourist Group

The precursor of Saigontourist Group, City Tourism Company, was formed according to Decision No. 04 / QD-UB of the HCMC People's Committee and began operations on August 1, 1975. This is the first tourism company of the city with 236 employees managing hotels, operating travel services and providing ships.

Saigontourist directly signs the contract to serve international guests in Vietnam.

Saigontourist attended the first international tourism fair in the Federal Republic of Germany (ITB Berlin).

Saigontourist signed the first joint venture contract with foreign countries. Travel Guide Division began overseas travel business. The first countries the company took guests to visit were Cambodia, Germany and France.

Organized the first travel routes to Southeast Asian countries; put into operation the Basic Tourism and Hotel School (now known as the Saigontourist Hospitality College - STHC), specializing in training tourism services for the company and Ho Chi Minh City. STHC was the first school to sign the first investment joint venture contract in the country.

The Travel Guide Division and Tourism Division were upgraded to Saigontourist Travel Service. Saigontourist signed sending and receiving contracts with 168 travel agencies in 19 countries.

A series of Saigontourist's hotels were upgraded and put into operation, meeting international standards of 3-4 stars. Saigontourist started the international cruise ship business.

Establishment of Saigontourist Cable Television Company Limited (SCTV). Establishment of Saigontourist Joint Venture in Japan. Cooperation investment in golf courses in District 9. Construction of a hotel in Hanoi.

Saigontourist joined the Pacific-Asia Tourism Association (PATA), continuously participating in marketing communication at international tourism exhibitions such as IT&ME (United States), TOP RESA (France), WTM ( England), ITB (Germany) ...

Saigontourist successfully organized the first Partners Forum in Vietnam. Joining international tourism associations such as the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), the U.S. Travel Association (USTOA)...

Saigontourist opens the Saigon - Tourane Hotel in Da Nang.

Name changed to Saigontourist Holding Company, Saigontourist for short. Began operation of Saigontourist’s website.

Saigontourist was classified as a special class enterprise by the Prime Minister.

Saigontourist successfully participates in organizing the 22nd SEA Games in Vietnam.

Saigontourist was assigned by the HCMC People's Committee to organize the Tet Festival along with Nguyen Hue Flower Street events, an annual event to celebrate Lunar New Year in Ho Chi Minh City. Saigontourist was recognized by Guinness World Records creating the largest banh Tet (Tet rice cake) in 2004.

Saigontourist successfully organized "Saigon - When We Reach 30" for 5,000 guests born on April 30, 1975, at Van Thanh tourist area, belonging to Saigontourist.

Saigontourist Holding Company changed into the model of a Parent Company - Subsidiary company.

The President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam awarded the title of Labor Hero, transforming the company into Saigontourist Holding Company - One Member Company Limited (Saigontourist).

Saigontourist announced a new identity brand.

Announced the 2017 Saigontourist Standard 5-Star Hotel Management Process set.

HCMC People's Committee approved Saigon Tourism Corporation to change its English name from Saigontourist Holding Company to Saigontourist Group.
